The Accessing Business Seminar organized by Highnet Resources Limited took place on Thursday, 16th of November, 2017 at the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Conference and Exhibition Center, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. The seminar’s core objectives were to unravel the secrets of getting business finance and also help participants meet lenders and equity firms. The seminar was attended by business owners and entrepreneurs that shared the common interest of accessing business finance.

The seminar started off with an overview of fund raising presented by Vivian Ani who is the Managing Partner of the seminar host – Highnet Resources Limited. Participants were made to understand the need for Business funding needs and options, types of fund providers and their requirements.

Fund providers and platforms represented at the seminar included NASD, GroFin and Investment one. The first presentation in the fund providers and platform segment was by NASD Plc which is a self-regulatory organization licensed by SEC to function as an Over-the-Counter Exchange that facilitates the trading of unlisted Securities with the intention to stimulate growth by easing the capital raising process and providing liquidity to investors.

NASD was represented by Ms Ifeoluwa Owotobo who explained various ways the NASD could help solve SME finance challenges. One of such ways is the proposed NASD Enterprise Portal (NASDeP) which collates SMEs’ performance and operations and presents it to a selected audience of venture capital and private equity firms and other accredited investors who are seeking investment opportunities.

The second and third presentations in this segment were by Grofin and Investment one which were represented by Dr. Felix Ezeh and Ms. Olayiwola Timilehin respectively. Grofin was established in 2004 with a focus on providing loan finance and business support needs to SMEs. The presenter from Investment One introduced their venture capital service which provides equity funding to start-ups, early stage or existing SMEs ranging from N5million to N100million.
